Special 75th Reunion Planned
The 75th annual Andrew Auman Family Reunion will be held the weekend of October 10-11, 2015. The 75th Reunion committee has been diligently planning a weekend-long event to celebrate this momentous occasion. To help you make plans to attend, we’ve prepared a sneak preview of what to expect and what we need YOU to do to help make this the most memorable reunion yet.

Saturday, October 10
10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Whynot Church
This year, we’re planning a special celebration for Saturday, October 10 at Whynot Church (the old Fair Grove Methodist Church). A variety of activities are planned throughout the day such as music, storyboards, memorabilia displays, a scavenger hunt, and driving history tours.

A catered lunch will be offered by Silo's Smokehouse—a local BBQ restaurant owned by an Auman—including BBQ, slaw, baked beans, potato salad, rolls, banana pudding and chocolate delight, and tea and water. Cost for lunch is $10 per person, and pre-orders will be required. A lunch order form will be sent out later this summer.

Finally, to make Saturday a success, we need YOUR help!
- Bring old pictures to share or ones you need help identifying.
(A station will be set up to scan photos to share, so be sure to bring a memory stick if you want copies of other photos.)
- Bring a “storyboard” or memorabilia (big and small—dolls to tractors!) to share something special about your immediate family history.
- Sign up to sing or play an instrument. (We hope to have family musicians onstage in the church all day for entertainment.)
- Volunteer to help clean up.
- Volunteer to run the photo/scanning table.
- Bring a laptop/scanner to assist with the photo project.
- Volunteer to drive for a guided history tour (especially if you have a larger vehicle!).

If you would like to help with the 75th Reunion and can share your time, talents, equipment, or experience, please email us at aumanreunion@gmail.com.

Sunday, October 11
10:30 a.m.
Pleasant Hill Primitive Baptist Church
The Reunion will continue on Sunday at Pleasant Hill Primitive Baptist Church for our annual program and picnic lunch. A special 75th Reunion Booklet will be distributed containing recipes, photos, and history of the reunion, and MANY special door prizes will be given away in addition to our traditional gifts.

On Sunday we need YOU to:
- Donate handmade door prizes (woodworking, needlepoint, crafts, canning, etc.). Please send us an email at aumanreunion@gmail.com to let us know what you plan to bring.
- ATTEND!

Persimmon Pudding Contest
It’s somewhat of a tradition to sample many wonderful and varying persimmon puddings every year at the reunion. This year, we’d like to celebrate that tradition by holding a Persimmon Pudding Contest during the Sunday picnic. We’ve lined up a celebrity chef to be the judge, so be sure to prepare a pudding!

Commemorative Quilt & Booklet Submissions
A commemorative 75th Reunion quilt is being created from YOUR quilt squares. If you have not already done so, please make a quilt square (or as many as you like) to represent your immediate family or your direct ancestors. Then write down a brief history to describe who or what your square represents to be included with the quilt. Quilt squares will be put together into one large quilt (or two if we have enough!) to be raffled off on Sunday. The quilt will be on display all day Saturday at Whynot Church.

To submit your squares, visit the reunion website at www.aumanfamilyreunion.org and download the form on the 75th Reunion page. Or, you may contact Roberta Edmonds at 336-873-7182. Quilt squares must be received by July 1st.

The 75th Reunion will also feature a booklet of recipes, stories, poems, and photos. You can submit your favorite family memories via the reunion website or by contacting Kimberly Lamonds at 910-220-6820. Submissions for the booklet must also be received by July 1st.

75th Reunion Pottery
For the 50th Reunion, Dorothy and Walter Auman—famous Seagrove potters— made commemorative coasters that were distributed to everyone, first-come first- served, who attended Sunday morning. The 75th Reunion committee has commissioned coasters this year by another Seagrove potter that will be marked with a special 75th Reunion stamp designed by Robert Cox (son of Sarah Caudill Cox and grandson of Marie Auman Caudill). The coasters will be available for purchase first-come first-served on Sunday morning for $5.00 per dish. If there is enough interest, we will have an option for a second run to be made and delivered at a later date. You may purchase as many coasters as you wish; they are an excellent way to share a piece of Auman history with your family!
